A recently adopted policy by the Enfield City Council to limit the types of flags that could be flown on town property sparked an LGBTQ protest in the Connecticut community on Monday.Dozens marched outside Enfield Town Hall, many of them carrying Pride flags. The protest comes more than a half-year after the display of one of the rainbow flags at the entrance of Town Hall prompted the new policy, which was passed two weeks ago. Under the new rules, only US, state of Connecticut and military service flags are allowed on town property. While the protest was held, public comment was allowed at a meeting in Town Hall. The meeting ended without any changes to the flag policy.
