Charleston, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) joined his colleagues on Thursday in introducing a Senate resolution recognizing June 2024 as LGBTQ Pride Month. The resolution recognizes the contributions LGBTQ Americans have made to the country and highlights major milestones in the fight for equal treatment under the law.

“I’m proud to join my colleagues in introducing this resolution to shine a light on the stories and achievements of LGBTQ West Virginians and Americans,” Manchin said. “Last Congress, I was proud to join a bipartisan majority in the Senate to codify the Respect for Marriage Act and protect Americans’ freedom to love who they love. No one understands love of family like West Virginians.”
