History was made on Australian television this week when the popular reality franchise The Bachelor got its first openly LGBTI contestant.
Bachelor in Paradise debuted this week and starred Megan Marx, who became a household name during her first stint on The Bachelor was one of the contestants.
Marx appeared in the 2016 season of the show and famously walked out of the rose ceremony half-way through.
But it was she did after the show that got tongues wagging.
Marx came out as bisexual and revealed she was dating her The Bachelor co-contestant, Tiffany James.
The pair made a very cute couple but their love didn’t last, hence Marx returning to the show to find love.
For weeks leading up to the new premiere, the show’s promos featured Marx kissing someone with long brown hair, teasing that it may be a woman.
A wide menu of choice
The Bachelor in Paradise show works differently from the regular The Bachelor with contestants given the option of exploring their connection with multiple people on the show, not just one protagonist.

‘There’s definitely a potential to hook up with guys or girls in Paradise. I just want to get there and see what happens,’ Marx said in her opening montage of the show.
In an interview with host Osher Günsberg on the show, Marx referred to her bisexuality saying she was lucky she had so many options.
‘Obviously I like girls and guys. I don’t know if any of the girls are going to swing my way, but if they do, we’ll see what happens,’ she said.
“To have so many options!” replied Günsberg.
“I know. I’m lucky, right? Everyone else has half and half, and I have the whole lot. It’s awesome.”
