Men allegedly tried to burn down ex-boyfriend's house with spaghetti sauce

According to police reports, two Florida men allegedly broken into their ex-boyfriend’s house and tried to burn it down — using spaghetti sauce.

Police arrested Derrick Irving, 36, and John Silva, 28, on 13 March. They also stole several items, including a flat-screen television, window A/C unit, and a vacuum.

The victim called 911 after security cameras detected motion in the house. There was also a burning pot of Ragu sauce on the stove with a washcloth nearby, in an apparent attempt to burn down the home.

‘He was trying to make it look like I left the stove on but who gets up 2 a.m. and fixes sketti,’ the victim told police.

He also tol authorites that Irving was wearing a bull onesie.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw a red SUV leaving. When they stopped the car, they found Irving and Silva. They denied any wrongdoing and said they were picking up clothes.

Police charged them with unarmed burglary, grand theft, and arson. They are holding Irving without bond and Silva with a $25,500 bond.
