An Indian tech company has sacked an executive over her homophobic and bigoted behavior.
According to Tech Mahindra’s former employee Gaurav Probir Pramanik, training lead Richa Gautam often ridiculed him for being gay.
The gay ex-employee sent his former boss a letter
Pramanik sent a letter to his former employer after India decriminalized gay sex on 6 September.
In the letter to Gautam which Pramanik made public on Sunday, he alleged that Gautam often berated him because he was gay. She, in fact, made fun of his colorful clothes and said his ‘effeminate’ manner had affected his work.
Furthermore, he added that Gautam’s conduct led others in the organization to bully him. This behavior forced him to quit in 2016.
Pramanik posted screenshots of the letter in full on his Twitter page.

The company fired the executive
Following Pramanik’s allegations, the company chairman Anand Mahindra tweeted they would look into the matter.
The investigations that followed was based on multiple sources within the company, who confirmed the former employee’s version.
Mumbai Mirror reported that a second ex-employee came forward to confirm what Pramanik had said.
As a result, Gautam lost her job.
