Tributes are being paid to Nana, a legend of the Manchester drag scene, who has passed away.

Colin Timmins, a stalwart of Canal Street and staple of the British cabaret circuit, died in hospital this week.

He was 61.

Many knew him as his alter ego, Madame Phylisann Von Hollywood Aries. Or, as many affectionately called him, Nana.

Having performed as recently as 12 February, he was taken ill.

After spending over a week there, he died.

On his Facebook, he described himself as an ‘entertainer, part-time lush, living life and loving it.’
