EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A local LGBTQ+ organization brought in activist Cathy Renna for a talk at First Presbyterian Church.
Renna spoke about the recent wins, losses and challenges that are being faced in 2024. She also provided tools and ways to face those challenges, and help the younger generation.
Vice President “Greater Evansville Youth” Katie Rutheburg says organizations coming together is how the community can move forward.
“A goal for many of the LGBTQ organizations in this community is to be more connected,” said Rutheburg. “To do more together in the way of advocacy and make that a focus in the future, then we will be able to do a lot more and make a lot more progress.”
Officials with Greater Evansville Youth are already planning on more presentations.
