Alyssa Edwards in Netflix’s Dancing Queen
Film and TV streaming service, Netflix, has clapped back at homophobic trolls in the most hilarious way on Facebook.
Netflix shared the news that RuPaul’s Drag Race alum and fan favorite, Alyssa Edwards, was getting her on documentary on the service.
Dancing Queen will debut on 5 October which Netflix describes as a ‘hilarious and heartfelt docu-series set in the dancing, prancing world of the multi-talented, multi-layered Justin Johnson [Alyssa’s male name]’.
‘Filmed in Justin’s hometown of Mesquite, Texas, Dancing Queen goes behind the makeup and into the drag performer’s highly competitive Beyond Belief Dance Company as he prepares a young class for an intensely competitive season,’ Netflix adds.
Many people celebrated the news with virtual ‘tongue-pops’, but some haters were not happy and Netflix was having none of it.
One person shared a meme saying: ‘this violated my eyes’.
‘Maybe it’s time for annual optometrist appointment?’ Netflix clapped back quickly.
Another homophobe hoped God would help the streaming service.
‘Thanks for keeping me in your prayers,’ Netflix replied.
Yasss Netflix
While Netflix shutdown the few homophobes, others celebrated the streaming service reading them to filth.
‘Yass Netflix, shante you stay!’ wrote one Facebook user.
Ever the Drag Race expert, Netflix replied with a cute Alyssa Edwards GIF.
Well played, Netflix.
