The idea is a cheeky reference to one of the raunchier scenes in the film where young Elio (played by ‎Timothée Chalamet) masturbates using a peach. Later on, his love interest, Oliver (Armie Hammer), attempts to eat the fruit.

Peachy vinyl package

Dutch firm MusicOnVinyl, created the package, which includes two peach coloured vinyl discs, housed in their own peach scented sleeves.

The special release also comes with a poster of the film and an insert.

Only 7,777 individually numbered copies of the limited edition peachy smelling records will be available. They will go on sale in August, which is the traditional peach harvesting season.

The soundtrack includes music from Sufjan Stevens, who contributed two new songs – ‘Visions of Gideon’ and ‘Mystery of Love’ – to the film’s soundtrack.

Also on the limited edition album is music from 80s band, The Psychedelic Furs, and Joe Esposito and Giorgio Moroder’s ‘Lady Lady’ collaboration also feature on the album.

Luca Guadagnino directed the film, which tells the story of a 17 year-old boy who falls for a handsome doctoral student. The story is set in and around an Italian villa in 1983.

Call Me sequel confirmed

The film was based on the novel of the same name by American author André Aciman. Guadagnino confirmed earlier this week that a sequel to the original film was in the works.

The director said the second film will be set in the late 1980s and feature the AIDS crisis as well as other major events of the time.
