Many young celebrities are using social media channels to come out to their followers in the simplest, most low-key yet effective way. Scream star Bex Taylor-Klaus is the latest to make this list with her recent tweet where they came out as non-binary.

Those who loved MTV’s slasher show will remember Taylor-Klaus’s honest portrayal of Audrey, the bisexual best friend of Noah and Emma. In the show, Audrey tries to come to terms with her attraction to girls while trying not to get murdered. Pretty easy, uh?

Unlike Audrey, Taylor-Klaus is very outspoken about their sexuality. The actor took to Twitter on 29 July to open up about their gender identity.

‘I came out as trans non-binary in a room full of people today,’ they wrote.

They furthermore tweeted: ‘Guess it’s time for me to do that on here, too… Hi. I’m Bex, and the rumors are true. I’m v enby.’

Bex Taylor-Klaus came out as gay in 2016

This is not the first time the actor addresses their sexuality on social media.

Taylor-Klaus, in fact, had already come out as gay on Twitter in November 2016 using the same formula.

A few days after Donald Trump’s election as POTUS, Klaus tweeted: ‘I am v gay.’

‘hello my name is bex and yes the rumors are true,’ they wrote.

Taylor-Klaus received the full support of the LGBTI community and her very vocal fans, excited at the news.

Taylor-Klaus would love to portray the new lesbian Batwoman

During SDCC, the actor also expresses their interest in playing the current iteration of Batwoman.

CW revealed Kate Kane will be part of their family of shows as an out and proud lesbian. Batwoman will be the latest LGBTI superhero to be introduced on mainstream TV, after the decision to cast trans actress Nicole Maines as trans superhero Nai Nal in Supergirl.

Following CW’s announcement, Taylor-Klaus told online magazine Fandom they would like to play Batwoman, X-23, or other ‘queer or … gender nonbinary heroines’.

Their fans immediately started discussing the idea on social media.

The actor isn’t new to the CW’s world of superheroes, as they played a recurring role in season 2 and 3 of Arrow. Taylor-Klaus was the badass, fearless Sin, sidekick of Black Canary aka Sara Lance.

Although this could cause some confusion in the CW universe, we hope there might still be a chance for Taylor-Klaus to portray Kane or another LGBTI superhero.
