The first trailer for Chloë Grace Moretz’s new movie, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, arrived today.
Based on the novel of the same name by Emily M. Danforth, the story follows teen Cameron Post. After her relationship with her best friend and Prom Queen is discovered, her conservative aunt and uncle send her to conversion camp.
While at the camp, Cameron makes new friends and fights back against those trying to change her.
Moretz plays Cameron while Jennifer Ehle plays Dr. Lydia Marsh, a leader at the camp.

Desiree Akhavan directed and co-wrote the film with Cecilia Frugiuele.
Shining a light on this dangerous practice
Cameron Post is the second Hollywood film coming out this year about conversion therapy. Joel Edgerton is directing and co-starring in the film Boy Erased, based on Garrard Conley’s memoir, about a young man sent to a conversion camp by his parents.
Boy Erased also co-stars Troye Sivan.
Both films are already receiving awards talk, with Cameron Post winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
Conversion therapy is the harmful practice of trying to change someone’s sexuality, typically via religion and psychotherapy. It is becoming something quickly phased out in the US, with numerous states enacting legislation against it.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post comes out on 3 August in the US and 31 August in the UK.
