Spice Girl Melanie C will headline this year’s Pride Glasgow, it has been announced.
The Northern Star singer will take to the stage at a new mystery location in Scotland’s second city, with more star names to be revealed soon.
Last year’s festival was held at Kelvingrove Park, and was attended by 18,000 people.
The star’s appearance follows her successful headline slot of last year’s Manchester Pride: The Big Weekend.
Melanie is of course known for her iconic Spice Girls’ discography, featuring hits like Wannabe, Say You’ll Be There and Stop. The group have sold 85 million records worldwide.
As a solo star, she scored two number ones in the UK: Never Be the Same Again and also I Turn To You.
In 2016, Melanie released her critically well-received seventh studio album, Version of Me, along with the lead single Anymore [above]. The album charted in territories around the world, and even peaked at number one in Brazil.

‘This year we are really spicing things up’ Ross Stevenson, Festival Director for Pride Glasgow, said in a statement.
He furthermore added: ‘[We have] a new venue, new date and a former Spice Girl. More acts will be announced in the coming months. We are aiming for a first class line-up to reflect the musical taste of visitors.
