Steps have been added to the Pride Glasgow lineup.

The vintage pop act join the likes of Spice Girl Melanie C on the list of performers at one of Scotland’s biggest LGBTI festivals.

The band, comprised of Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Faye Tozer, will play Pride Glasgow’s afterparty on Sunday 15 July.

‘It would be a tragedy to pass it up.’

Alastair Smith, Pride Glasgow Chief Executive said: ‘This is an exciting new aspect to the Festival Programme this year and shows once again why Pride Glasgow is Scotland’s largest pride event and when this became an option for us we knew it would be a tragedy to pass it up.’

Ross Stevenson, Pride Glasgow Festival Director commented: ‘We have Stepped up again this year with the inclusion of the Steps afterparty as part of the festival and really looking forward to relieving the songs of my youth with what was one of the biggest bands of the 90s.’

The band scored a record-breaking 13 top five singles in a row in the UK in the 90s and 00s. Their hit 5, 6, 7, 8 is the highest-selling single in the UK not to make the top 10 in the UK ever. It shifted 365,000 copes.
