Adorable couple Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black recently celebrated their one-year anniversary of marriage.

However, it wasn’t just an anniversary full of sweet social media posts (although there were those too).

Yesterday (8 May), Black tweeted a photo of him and Black on a gondola in Venice. Surprise!

As Black wrote, he thought he was just going to a dinner in London for their anniversary. ‘Instead I’m on a gondola in Venice,’ he then said. ‘Biggest surprise of my life.’

He also called Daley the ‘most wonderful husband a man could ever wish for’.

Daley posted his own photo on Instagram, calling himself the ‘luckiest guy in the world’.

Okay, now let’s all ‘awwww’ together.

A couple that dives together stays together

Riding on gondolas in Venice isn’t the only cute thing Daley and Black have been up to lately.

Daley, an Olympic diver, recently took his husband diving with him.

Turns out, the pair made a bet. Black told Daley that if he ever won the World Championship of diving again, Black would jump off the 10 m diving board.

Well, Daley won gold. So the pair stripped down to their swimsuits and headed over to the London Aquatic Center.

Unfortunately, they ran out of time before Black could launch himself off the tallest platform. The video is still a lot of fun though. It’s especially amusing seeing Daley try and instruct Black on proper diving techniques and then laughing when Black doesn’t quite nail it.

However, diving for fun is the only type of diving Daley will be doing for the rest of the year.

He told the BBC he won’t be competing for the remainder of 2018.

‘I’ll be using the rest of the year to spend time with my husband and new baby and work on projects close to my heart,’ he said.

The couple announced they were expecting a baby on Valentine’s Day this year.

‘Diving is a huge part of my life, and I have dedicated the last 15 years to it,’ he added, not planning to return to competition until 2019. ‘I am sure this will give me the time I need to be in a position to compete at my best going into the next Olympics.’
