Rising gay star Troye Sivan announced his North American tour, The Bloom Tour, on Twitter last night (29 May).

Yup, it’s named after his forthcoming album — and that bop about bottoming.

The tour begins on 21 September in Texas and takes him all across North America, eventually ending 8 November in Vancouver, Canada.

That’s not the only exciting news, though. Tickets go on sale 5 June and anyone who orders a ticket also gets a physical copy of the Bloom album.

Sivan first announced his album when he joined Taylor Swift for her Reputation tour. It gave fans a good taste of what’s to come from a live Sivan performance.

Many are excited about the promise of both a tour and an album.

Not everyone is happy with his lineup for his tour, however. Joining him is Kim Petras, as well as Leland and Carlie Hanson on specific dates.

Petras is a trans singer-songwriter from Geris many and not everyone is thrilled about her as Sivan’s opening act because of her collaboration with Dr. Luke.

Will this affect the tour?

Dr. Luke is the music producer whom Kesha accused of emotional distress, sexual harassment and assault, and employment discrimination. In two instances, she alleged he drugged and raped her.

Many artists came out in support of Kesha. She released a new album last year and her musical comeback has been emotional, both for the artist and her fans.

Petras frequently works with Dr. Luke, saying her experience with him has been ‘very positive’. She also added that she respects both Kesha and Luke and wants to ‘stay out of it’. Then, she told NME, she wouldn’t work with someone she ‘believes to be an abuser of women’.

Fans are not taking particularly kindly to this.

For some it’s even affecting their decision to buy tickets.

Sivan has not yet responded to the criticisms of Petras joining his tour.

His album Bloom arrives on 31 August.
