Dubbed the UK’s most popular LGBTI event, Brighton and Hove Pride returns to the south coast of England for its 27th year.

The festival takes place over the weekend of 3-5 August, with the parade taking to the seafront on Saturday 4 August.

This year’s theme is Colour My World, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the creation of the rainbow flag. 300,000 people are expected to wave their flags and sport their best outfits for the big day.

Set to attract the largest crowd to date, the Carnival of Diversity Community Parade starts at Hove Lawns at 11am. It will then travel through the city center, passing Brighton’s landmarks such as the Royal Pavilion. See the full parade route here.

The festival at Preston Park

People from all over the world will flood into Brighton to take part in the celebration for the LGBTI community during the festival.

Kicked off by one of the official Pride parties, Queer Prom: Rainbow Ball, on 3 August, the festival will start at 12pm on 4 August. The one-day event will see Preston Park transformed into a playground of performance and dance tents. There will also be a wellbeing field, and food and drinks stalls to keep revelers fueled throughout the day.

Moreover, QueerTown, a new area in the north end of the park, will provide attendees with alternative live music, cabaret, comedy, burlesque, and performance art.

It’s Britney, bitch

As every year, marchers will welcome amazing international acts. After the likes of Boy George, Pet Shop Boys, Paloma Faith, Years & Years, Fatboy Slim, Carly Rae Jepsen and more, this year it’s Britney Spears’s turn to grace Brighton and Hove Pride with her presence.

Straight from one of the most loved Vegas residencies, her Piece of Me set is surely one to remember. The Baby One More Time singer will take the main stage in Preston Park alongside Ella Eyre and Pixie Lott. Mnek, Mabel, and Louise will also perform.
