At the June 3 Village Board meeting, Mayor Daniel C. Shapiro proclaimed June 2024 as LGBTQ Pride Month in the Village of Deerfield.
Pride flags are on display at Village Hall and Public Works and a Pride Month banner is at the corner of Deerfield and Waukegan roads. The Deerfield Fine Arts Commission and Friends of the Deerfield Public Library are sponsors of the fourth year of the Deerfield Public Library’s award-winning Queer Poem-a-Day podcast, a unique podcast series for Pride Month presenting a public archive of original poems written and read by contemporary LGBTQIA+ poets.
