RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Virginia Pridefest is this weekend in Richmond.
Hundreds of people are expected to attend the popular event at the Bon Secours Training Center.
You can expect a day full of performances, music and much more.
Crystal Waters, Robin S, and Tank and The Bangas will be rocking the crowd on Saturday.
RuPaul’s drag race alumni will also be taking the stage.
You can also expect tons of vendors.
There’ll be a market with over 130 vendors, and there’ll also be some family-friendly activities.
Virginia Pride is a program of Diversity Richmond, which is celebrating its 25th year as the hub of Richmond’s LGBTQ community.
During the afternoon, a lineup of local talent will take the stage, including singer-songwriter and guitarist Landon Elliott, several Richmond-based drag entertainers, and many others.
The Virginia Pride director hopes everyone leaves the event feeling loved.
“What I really hope that people will take away from attending Pridefest is that they had an experience where they get to come and be their true authentic selves. Families, kids, adults, everybody is welcomed at Pride Fest, and I really hope people walk away from that event feeling that they’ve been safe, they’ve been seen and that they’ve been celebrated,” said James Millner.
Dance-pop artist Bryce Bowen will play tunes throughout the day to keep the vibes going. The headliner, Tank and The Bangas, won the 2017 NPR Tiny Desk concert and were nominated for Best New Artist in the 2020 Grammy Awards.
Everything kicks off at noon and continues through 8 p.m.
