Nancy Pelosi is probably one of the most high-powered RuPaul’s Drag Race guests in the show’s decade-long history.

This week the current Democratic leader of the U.S. House of Representatives will make her debut on the reality drag queen competition.

Pelosi will make a cameo on the current All Stars 3 season and in a 10-minute preview of the upcoming episode had some inspiring words for the queens.

‘People sacrifice so much in our country for people to have the right to vote,’ she says.

‘It’s a blessing. But we have to use it. If you don’t vote, you don’t count — and you count.’

Rather than simply appearing at the judge’s desk towards the end of the episode, Pelosi makes an appearance in the workroom alongside host, RuPaul.

She descends down the workroom stairs with RuPaul to tell the queens how much she loves them.

‘I’m honored to be here. You’re an inspiration, I hope you know, because you really know your power,’ Pelosi says.

‘It’s about taking pride, and that’s what you do.’

Making a statement

The remaining five queens were still reeling after Ben De La Creme eliminated herself from the show.

So when Pelosi entered the workroom, the queens were understandably shook.

‘Nancy Pelosi? I’m dying,’ says Morgan McMichaels.

‘I just want to say thank you to her, I just want to hug her… Nancy Pelosi is spearheading the way through.’

Trixie Mattel was also excited to be in the presence of a congresswoman.

‘Every time you get in drag, you’re making a political statement,’ she says.

‘We live in a world where a high-power politician will walk into the workroom. That makes me feel hopeful.’
