A still from the McQueen trailer

The official trailer for the documentary film about late fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been released. A shorter, teaser-length version of the trailer was put out back in April.

During his lifetime, McQueen became known as ‘the hooligan of English fashion’ due to his penchant for dark, bold, and dramatic styles.

Between 1996 to 2003, McQueen won the British Designer of the Year award four times. He was the youngest designer to receive the honor. In 2003, he was named International Designer of the Year.

He worked as head designer for Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 before going on to create his own fashion label.

McQueen died by suicide in 2010 at his home in Mayfair, London.

In 2015, an exhibit dedicated to McQueen’s designs at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum became the most visited exhibition in a decade, selling 345,000 tickets.

Check out our review of the McQueen documentary here, and catch it in theaters on 8 July.
