The wedding of the year is a gift that just keeps on giving.
British diver Tom Daley married Oscar winning American screen writer Dustin Lance Black in a fairytale wedding at Bovey Castle in Devon earlier this month.
Since their nuptials Daley has been sharing details of the big day on his social media accounts.
Yesterday Daley revealed he played a big part in the design of the couple’s wedding cake, only unveiling the finished product to his husband at their reception.
In a video posted on YouTube, Daley takes viewers from the inception of the cake where he’s seen tasting different sprinkles and working with the cake-making team.
The five-tiered caked is decked out in red, white and blue embellishments, presumably to represent the colours of their respective countries’ flags.
‘I’m not sure if I’m getting married or if it’s 4th of July,’ Black commented when he saw the cake for the first time.
‘Or perhaps we’ve just won the presidency.’
Adorning the top of the cake were their initials T and D, decorated in the flags of their respective countries.
Watercolour, cake stacking and other cool tricks
Daley was a part of the caking making process from its inception learning techniques like watercolour decorating and cake stacking.
He revealed in the wedding cake unveiling video, that may parts of the cake were made in his and Black’s Great Britain inspired apartment.
