When and where to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month in New Hampshire

Written by

Event organizers across New Hampshire are advertising colorful and fun-filled opportunities to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month.

Whether you fancy a high-energy drag performance, prefer a chiller summer festival vibe, or like the idea of a queer-inclusive night at the ballpark, the Granite State has options for you.

Katreena Callahan, a board member for the nonprofit Windham Citizens for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, said the group’s fourth annual, free and family-friendly Pride festival will include live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, lawn games, crafts, a queer-history-themed scavenger hunt, and more.

“Pride is about collaboration and celebration, all in the spirit of making Windham a more welcoming place for all,” they said.

Here are some options for when and where Granite Staters will celebrate Pride this month:

Windham — The Windham Pride Festival will be held Sunday, June 9, from noon to 4 p.m. at Windham High School.

Manchester — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats will host Pride Night on Tuesday, June 11, when the Cats are up against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Lebanon — Rain or shine, the Lebanon Opera House will host a free Pride Picnic on Friday, June 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Colburn Park. The free event will be followed by a ticketed silent disco.

Manchester — A parade down Elm Street will start at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, followed by the Manchester Pride festival at Veteran’s Memorial Park, with musicians, drag performers, local vendors, and food trucks. A ticketed after-party for adults 21 and older begins at 8 p.m.

Portsmouth — Seacoast Outright’s weekend lineup for Portsmouth Pride includes a march on Saturday, June 22, at noon followed by mainstage performances, a youth after-party for those ages 14 to 20, and an after-party for adults 21 and older.

Nashua — The Nashua Pride Festival and Parade is slated for Saturday, June 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. Then the Nashua Center for the Arts will present a ticketed show at 7:30 p.m. featuring Pride Anthems from 1969 through the present.

Fitzwilliam — Keene Pride Outdoors will host a hike on Sunday, June 23, at 11 a.m., that’s intended to be low-to-moderate in physical intensity, as both a social and recreational activity.

Keene — The Keene Swamp Bats, a collegiate summer baseball team, will host Pride Night with a parade before their game on Tuesday, June 25.

North Conway — The White Mountains Pride Festival will be held Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Conway Community Center park, with an emcee, activities, and vendors.

Keene — A special superhero-themed ticketed event for adults, called Super Queeroes Pride Prom, will be hosted by Keene Pride on Saturday, June 29, from 8 p.m. to midnight at Keene Public Library’s Heberton Hall.

All booked up for June? Capital City Pride is planning events in Concord in July, and the Keene Pride Festival is slated for Sept. 15.
