Korean boy band BTS enlisted the help of MNEK for a song on their new album, Love Yourself: Tear

MNEK has previously written songs for Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Beyonce. But now he’s collaborated with the hugely popular Korean boy band on track five ‘낙원’, which translates to Paradise.

(Fun fact: MNEK has a song of his own called Paradise).

Producer lophiile confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday (15 May). He tweeted: ‘Me & the homie MNEK did a tune for BTS.’

MNEK took to Twitter to thank the fans: ‘The BTS fans have been so fucking nice! thank yooooou. look fwd to you all hearing the song we wrote.’

The Korean boy band (also known as Bangtan Boys) is hugely popular. They’re a seven-member South Korean band that produce mostly hip hop, but also R&B and rock music.

They have a huge social media following, becoming the most tweeted about celebrity in 2017.

Social media meltdown

The new BTS album is already number one on the US music charts and fans are going wild.

MNEK quote-tweeted some responses from fans praising the collaboration. One tweet reads: ‘Thank you for writing “낙원” for our boys BTS. Every songs you write are amazing. You’re such a talented singer-songwriter.’

Another said: ‘WAIT SO YOU’RE TELLING ME BTS COLLABED WITH MNEK?? THE MNEK THAT IS A HELLA TALENTED BLACK DUDE WHO IS ALSO AN OUT AND PROUD GAY KING? NOW THAT’S THE KIND OF WESTERN ARTISTS I WANT BTS TO COLLAB WITH THANK YOU.’
