Germany and the rest of the world agrees. Madrid is the city of tolerance and diversity. According to a prestigious award received on the sideline of the recently concluded ITB trade show in Berlin at this years film-print-multimedia festival The Golden City Gate. the film 40 years of Madrid Pride was awarded first place.
Abu Dhabi was awarded the top Diamond Award with: Your Extraordinary Story
Wolgang Huschert, president of Golden City Gate said: “Especially in today’s world, we put a big emphasis on this award to be included in travel and tourism to promote the subject of tolerance and diversity, regardless of race, religion and sexual orientation. ”
This award has been given since 2014. In 2014 DSDS Superstar Prince Damien was the recipient for his music video “Easy Breezy.”
In 2016 Austrian Conchita Wurst received the award for her film “My perfect day in Vienna.”
In times when Russia, Uganda or Tanzania are sharpening their laws to criminalize members of the LGBT community, this award during a global travel and tourism event is a brave undertaken.
This year the 19th annual edition of the tourism film print multimedia festival “The Golden City Gate.” had 150 film entries from all across the globe.
