Fans aren’t happy Lauren Jauregui is endorsing Eminem’s new album, featuring a song using the gay slur ‘faggot’.
The ex-Fifth Harmony member took to Instagram on Saturday (1 September) to post a screenshot of Eminem’s new song Lucky You, featuring Joyner Lucas.
It’s from Eminem’s new album, Kamikaze.
She captioned the photo: ‘MOTHERFUCKING LEGEND FOREVER AND ALWAYS JEZUS’

She also posted a series of videos onto her Instagram story reacting to the album.
In the videos, she’s hyperventilating and crying in adoration of the album. She also uses text in the video that says: ‘This album is literally fucking mURDERING ME @eminem’

The Lose Yourself singer dropped the new album on Friday (31 August), but it’s the song Fall causing controversy.
On the track, he hits out at Tyler the Creator, saying: ‘Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a faggot, bitch / It’s not just ’cause you lack attention / It’s ’cause you worship D12’s balls, you’re sacrilegious.’
Fans call out contradiction
Many fans began calling out the contradiction of Lauren Jauregui, who identifies as bisexual and is a vocal LGBTI campaigner, promoting a rapper who continues to use historically offensive gay slurs.
In response to the screenshot she posted of Eminem’s album on Instagram, one fan responded: ‘what about NOT supporting homophobes once you, yourself, are a part of the LGBTQA+ community?’
Another replied: ‘how is it okay to use a gay slang? calling tyler a f*ggot isn’t being a legend, it is being homophobic.’

Another fan tweeted: ‘Lauren delete your ig post and your stories about Eminem’s album. He’s homophobic and his even using f*ggot on this new album you were listening to. If you care about fighting against homophobia please delete them.’
Then another tweeted: ‘ur always super lgbtq+ supportive but when a huge artist like eminem uses the word faggot its okay?’
While some fans came to Jauregui’s defense, many are wondering why she hasn’t addressed the controversy.

Eminem in 2013: ‘I say so much shit that’s tongue-in-cheek’
This isn’t the first time Eminem has received flack for using homophobic and transphobic slurs.
His 2000 album Marshall Mathers LP garnered similar criticism for frequent use of the word ‘fag’. Years later, in 2013, he released another song with the word on it.
After the 2013 incident, he responded by saying he doesn’t have a problem with gay people at all. In fact, he doesn’t even associate the word ‘faggot’ with gay people.

He explained: ‘I say so much shit that’s tongue-in-cheek.
‘But that word… when I came up battle-rappin’ or whatever, I never really equated those words… It was more like calling someone a bitch or a punk or asshole.
‘So that word was just thrown around so freely back then.
‘I poke fun at other people, myself. But the real me sitting here right now talking to you has no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all.
‘I’m glad we live in a time where it’s really starting to feel like people can live their lives and express themselves,’ he said.
In 2015, Eminem also previously used transphobic raps about Caitlyn Jenner.
He rapped: ‘I invented prick, and that’s a true statement, I see the bitch in you, Caitlyn / I keep the pistol tucked like Bruce Jenner’s dick.’
And after a pause: ‘No disrespect though, not at all, no pun intended, that took a lot of balls.’
