Hundreds of fans of the queen of pop Britney Spears will be locked out of her Brighton Pride performance after being sold ‘invalid tickets’.
Britney is headlining the LGBTI festival tonight (4 August). She will take the main stage at 8:50pm, bringing her award-winning Las Vegas show Piece of Me to the UK.
It will be the first time she performs in England since 2011, but many fans might be disappointed.
Tickets reached the price of £450
Brighton Pride organizers say secondary ticket sites are ‘ripping off’ fans hoping to see the artist. These websites are selling tickets which are not valid and will not gain entry to the concert, despite their high cost.
Tickets to the now sold-out event on ViaGogo or Stubhub, in fact, can be up to £450 each. This is more than 10 times the face value of the most expensive tickets sold by Brighton Pride, which were £37.50.
‘No resale, no refund’ policy
Organisers said tickets must have been bought through Pride exclusively. Brighton Pride operates a ‘no resale, no refund’ policy.
Attendees will also have to produce identification which matches the lead bookers name printed on the ticket.
Organizers then explained that if people have bought the ticket from a secondary ticket sales site, then the identifies will not match and they may be refused entry.
Britney fans are obviously furious
Angry fans took to Twitter when they learned they might be refused entry.

‘absolutely disgusting with @viagogo that I have purchased x2 tickets for my daughter and her friend to see @britneyspears […] only for Brighton pride not to be accepting [them],’ one user wrote.
They added: ‘Surely you can’t seel these tickets knowing this information?’
Fans are also frustrated by the lack of information.
