Will Jesus calm or bring the storms?
A religious extremist posing as Jesus Christ has sent a letter to town with a homophobic threat.
These letters warned the Australian city of Hobart they must ban same-sex marriage or ‘face destruction’.
Claiming to be from ‘Yeshua/Jesus Christ’, he warned he will bring ‘storms’.
‘Jesus’ demands city bans same-sex marriage
‘This is a warning to turn from your idols, from your drug use, drunkenness, thefts, fornications and adulteries. Stop teaching your children the ways of destruction. Lest I bring more storms of destruction.
‘I, Yeshua/Jesus Christ am going to have my way upon Tasmania for its whoredoms.
‘Plead with your senator to amend the marriage act, ban unbiblical divorce, ban adulterous remarriages, ban fornication, ban pornography, ban gay marriage, stop killing the unborn, lest I rape your state that there will be poverty like you have not seen.
‘If you do not repent, then I will bring killer storms and Hobart will I, again, ravage, the west coast will be shaken in my fury and Launceston will be torn up. And what of the North Coast?
‘I, Yeshua/Jesus Christ send this warning by the hand of my servant.’
The poster, seen on Facebook, has a simple request.
‘How about you just chill the fuck out, mate?’
Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus.
Australia legalized same-sex marriage in December 2017 after a historic referendum.
Will ‘destruction’ come to the city of Hobart?
A member of the Facebook group, ‘Proud to be a second-class Australian’, posted a version of the letter.
‘Hobart, are you [ready] for law reform?’ it says.
‘Or do you want me to bring more storms of destruction?’
In May, Hobart was hit with flash-flooding after a storm which broke a 24-hour rainfall record.
However, other than that, the state’s seasonal average of rainfall has been normal.
