RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Jujubee has said she feels Shangela’s pain over her losing All Stars 3.
The girls were on the first episode of season 2 of the hit reality show together back in 2010 (!). Shangela then returned for season 3, and again for the third season of All Stars this year.
Speaking to Gay Star News ahead of her appearance at this year’s Drag World UK convention in London, England, Jujubee said of Shangela: ‘You know, I felt her pain. I definitely did. The format was so different. Watching it, I was like “Shangela’s killing it.”’
‘We were like “What the hell’s going on?” She was like: “Momma…my corn!”’
Sharing a story from season 2, Jujubee furthermore added: ‘‘Shangela, I love. She’s always had a place in my heart. I remember meeting her the first day on season 2 and we were on that stage… Remember her outfit with the corn? The kernels were falling off!
‘I don’t know if that was shown on TV, but hearing the little kernels hit the stage was the most comical thing ever. We were like “What the hell’s going on?” She was like: “Momma…my corn!” [Laughs] I’ll never forget that. That was the first day. She’s grown so much.’
‘We do have a Facebook group for the girls from season 2’
Asked if she’s a member of any drag social media groups, Jujubee said: ‘We do have a Facebook group for the girls from season 2. I think every season has their own. I’m pretty sure Shangela’s a member of like 60 of them because she’s been on every season! She’s probably the one spilling the tea on Reddit!’
