The latest edition of the Teen Choice Awards, held last night (12 August) at the Forum in Los Angeles, might be the queerest ever.

As usual, the jury of viewers – living in the US, aged 13 and over – voted through various social media. They virtually handed the colorful, custom-made surfboard to several LGBTI artists, films and shows.

Riverdale stole the show with nine awards

A few TV shows excelling in LGBTI representation, such as Riverdale and Shadowhunters, were among the protagonists of the night.

The teen drama based on Archie Comics Riverdale, in fact, won nine Teen Choice Awards. The series, which has a bisexual female couple and a conversion therapy storyline, brought home the surfboard for Choice Drama TV show.
