Pop diva Mariah Carey has dropped the first single from her forthcoming album and she has a pretty strong message to send.

It only GTFO (Get the Fuck Out) to hit number one in six countries on the iTunes, as Carey lets loose on an ex boyfriend.

The song starts slow and sultry, lulling the listener into believing they would be hearing another classic Carey ballad.

But then Carey softly starts singing ‘how ’bout you get the fuck out’, and it becomes clear this is something completely for the diva.

‘Go stay at your friend’s house or something,’ Carey sings at the end of the song. ‘Take your shit and leave’.

Nineteen85 who has also worked with Drake produced the track.

The video for GTFO drops tomorrow and fans can expect another single called With You on 5 October.

Carey made the deliberate decision to give her fans something different with GTFO.

‘I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn’t so serious,’ she said in a statement.

‘I’ve had so much fun making this album, and I wanted the first moment to reflect that light-hearted spirit.’

GTFO reactions:

It turns out people are pleased with the news track, #GTFO and Mariah were trending on Twitter within minutes of its release.
