Pride in London will allow bisexual groups to march after rescue deal

Bisexual groups will march at Pride in London despite no official bi group applying to join the parade in time.

Just yesterday it emerged that no bisexual groups had applied to be in the parade before the deadline.

And Pride in London indicated they couldn’t help. They tweeted: ‘We are disappointed that no bi groups applied on time.’

But now GSN can reveal they have found a solution.

Gay Star News contacted organisers to see if we could help rescue bi visibility in Pride.

But they told us they had already found a way forward.

Pride in London were already working with the people planning the UK’s first dedicated BiPride.

And now they’ve brokered a deal. BiPride will invite other bisexual groups to march with them. And the bisexual group will be at the front of the UK Pride section.

Others who have missed the parade entry deadline, however, are just too late.

Rescue deal for bisexual groups at Pride

A Pride in London spokesman told us: ‘Following recent concerns of bi representation we’re delighted to confirm that BiPride will lead the UK Prides section of our parade.

‘Whilst space is limited, BiPride will invite other bi groups to join them to show their support for the development of BiPride and to increase bi visibility.’

And he added: ‘We have worked with bi-activists to ensure the bisexual community has high profile representation on our live stages, and will be a vital part of our “Love Happens Here” publicity campaign.’

Organizers said over 300 different groups overall will take part in Pride in London’s parade this year ‘representing the whole of the LGBT+ community’.

Groups wishing to join BiPride in the parade should send an email to [email protected]. The parade is on 8 July this year.
