Prism United wants to put LGBTQ-owned businesses on the map in Mobile

Written by

A nonprofit supporting LGBTQ youth in Mobile has joined an initiative to highlight businesses, community organizations, medical practices and more as welcoming and safe places.

Prism United placed itself on the Everywhere Is Queer map, which was created in 2021 by Charlie Sprinkman after struggling to find places he felt represented and safe during a road trip across the country. The map is fueled by people who submit their own businesses that are safe spaces or LGBTQ-owned. Mashable called it “Yelp for the queer-led revolution.”
