Queer Eye’s resident culture expert Karamo Brown proposed to his long-term partner Ian Jordan last night (9 May).

The 37-year-old reality television star planned a surprise birthday party for his partner of eight years, who is the assistant director of Directors Guild of America.

During the party, Brown made a video for Jordan and then at the end, dropped down on one knee.

He said: ‘You are the funniest man I know, the kindest man, my biggest cheerleader,’ reports Entertainment Tonight. ‘You made me feel like I could do anything.’

Brown filled the room with flowers and balloons, as well as friends and family.

Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness – the remaining cast of the hit Netflix show – were also present on the night.

France posted a cute video to his Instagram story, sending his congratulations.

In the video, Brown says: ‘All of these things I accomplish, is only because when I get home, I know that I have you… you make me feel like I can do anything and I just want you to know that I hope we can conquer the world together.’

Brown is a father-of-two boys, Jason and Chris. He found out he was a father when he was 25 years old, when Jason was aged 10.

Opening up about his fatherhood journey, Karamo said: ‘His mother is the last girl I dated when I was in high school. She got pregnant and moved away and I found out about him when I was 25.’
