Oscar-award winning singer, Sam Smith, has reportedly split from his boyfriend of nine months, actor Brandon Flynn.
The couple started dating in November last year and were often snapped together around the world.
Smith is said to be devastated by the split from the 13 Reasons Why actor.
According to a report in The Sun, an unnamed source said the pair had a whirlwind romance.
‘But they are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven’t worked out,’ the source said.
‘Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had.’
‘Thankfully he is on tour across the US at the moment which has been a welcome distraction.’
‘I’m going through some shit right now’
During his show in Brooklyn, Smith admitted to the crowd he was having a bit of a rough time. But he did not mention the breakup.
Everyone in this room is going through some shit right now,’ the singer told the crowd.
‘I know I’m going through some shit right now.’

The pair often posted cute photos of the two of them together on Instagram. Earlier this year, Flynn, 24, even introduced the singer to his parents.
Smith, 26, also deleted all the cute photos of the couple from his Instagram overnight. Which in today’s age is a pretty definite sign of a break-up.
The breakup comes as a surprise to many as the couple had just celebrated Smith’s birthday last month. Flynn had given Smith NSFW gifts by artist Allen Cutler for his birthday.
‘Sam Smith with his birthday gift from Brandon. It makes me happy to see how happy he is in this picture,’ Culter wrote on Instagram.
The singer had boasted about the relationship earlier in the year saying it was the first time he ‘deserved to be happy’.
‘I’m in a relationship right now and for the first time, I think I deserve to be happy,’ Smith said in January.
‘I’m actually asking myself if I’m going to be writing some happy love songs soon.’
Love is dead
The internet is just as heartbroken as Smith over the breakup and took to Twitter to share in the grief.
