Colorado pastor Kevin Swanson is blaming California’s current wildfires on the state embracing LGBTI rights.
Swanson, who is a pastor at the Reformation Church of Elizabeth, Colorado, made the comments last week on Generations with Kevin Swanson.
There are currently multiple wildfires endangering several parts of northern California. One of them, the Mendocino Complex fire, is now the second-largest wildfire in California history.
‘The first gay pride march occurred in San Francisco in 1970, and then San Francisco legitimized homosexuality in 1972,’ Swanson said, detailing the state’s history with LGBTI rights.
‘In 2005, California state legislators became the first in the nation to pass a same-sex marriage law … In 2008, the California Supreme Court then struck down Prop 22 in regard to marriage cases, and Prop 8 also was struck down later on that year, I believe.’
He continued: ‘So God is burning down California in 2017 and 2018 after about 25 years of leading the pack to legitimize the sin of homosexuality in that state.’
He also brought up California’s decision last year to adopt LGBTI-inclusive history textbooks in the classroom.
‘That was the kickoff for the biggest fires that California has ever seen in its history,’ he commented.
Last year’s fire were some of the worst in history for the state.
Ellen DeGeneres was forced to evacuate during the fires, and then also faced mudslides in the aftermath.
No surprise
Swanson’s comments are hardly a shock as he has made similar claims numerous times before.
Last year, he linked the deadly Hurricane Harvey to the LGBTI community.
His ridiculous comments don’t end with natural disasters, however.
He’s also said before that public schools will turn kids into ‘transgender communities’ and that if Hillary Clinton had been elected, she would have turned kids gay.
