Weightlifters gym brand drops Pride range and we’re loving it

Doughnuts and Deadlifts is a lifestyle apparel brand with growing international appeal.

The business had humble beginnings in 2013. A group of friends would meet to lift weights at a gym in Southern California – fuelled in part by doughnuts they grabbed from a nearby doughnut store on Huntington Beach. From this regular meeting, the idea for a clothing line was born.

The company was founded and is headed by Krissy Mae Cagney. Now based in Reno, Nevada, it makes clothing for a wide range of athletes: of athletes: powerlifters, Olympic weightlifters, CrossFitters, bodybuilders, and just regular gym-goers.

‘Doughnuts & Deadlifts is more than a clothing company,’ says Krissy Mae on the company website.

‘It’s a lifestyle, and a movement. We exist for those who understand performance nutrition. Smart athletes don’t look at food as “good” or “bad”. Our devotees are always chasing their next PR and understand that the proper way to fuel (and celebrate) a PR is with tasty treats.’

Each year, it produces a Pride collection. This year’s collection goes on sale today.

‘The LGBTQ community holds a very special place in our hearts for a number of reasons. Thank you for supporting it, celebrating it, and helping us continue to give back.’

A portion of the proceeds from the collection of T-shirts and tops will go to The Out Foundation.
