The season finale of Riverdale aired last night (16 May) but they had one more same-sex treat for us.
Riverdale’s resident gay character Kevin Keller is often in the background of various scenes throughout the show. But it’s a tender moment he shares in the Riverdale High school bathroom that’s getting people talking on social media.
After the death of his girlfriend Midge Klump, Moose Mason is mourning the loss of her keepsakes when students trashed the school.
Kevin Keller walks into the bathroom and tries to comfort the high school footballer.
The pair hug and Kevin says: ‘They’re just things – you’re going to be okay, Moose.’
Then after the embrace, they look into each other’s eyes, pause and Moose leans in for a kiss.

Kevin looks noticeably shocked, then backs off.
But after giving it a moment’s thought, lunges back in for a passionate kiss.
The two end up making out in the high school bathroom.

The history of Kevin and Moose
Kevin and Moose actually had a romantic storyline together from the very first episode of Riverdale.
The pair are seen getting out of a car, ready to hook-up by the river.
Moose says: ‘For the record, I’m not gay.’
Kevin replies sarcastically: ‘Obviously not, Moose. You’re on the football team. But if you were gay, what would you want to do?’
Moose responds: ‘Everything but kiss.’
Kevin then quips: ‘I love a good closet case!’

The two actually have a complicated storyline in the first season, where Moose develops feelings for Kevin.
But it all comes to a head when Kevin lays it all on the line: ‘Listen Moose, you’re hot. Yes. My type? Definitely. But you’ve got more demons than The Exorcist.
‘We’re all on the spectrum, but my gay-o-meter says you should stick with what you know best… Girls,’ he said.
Will we be seeing more from Moose and Kevin in season three?
Kevin Keller also shared a brief romance with a member of the serpents. He then had his own storyline about trying to find love in a small town at the start of season two. He went cruising in the park and had an important conversation about loneliness with Betty Cooper.
This season of Riverdale also saw Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz both come out as bisexual.
