Sam Smith just took to social media with the most fabulous sparkly outfit imaginable.

The Pray singer posted a photo of himself on Instagram in a red jacket, heels and holding a rainbow fan.

He also captioned the photo with a line from song All That Jazz from the hit-musical Chicago.

He wrote: ‘Come on babe, we’re gonna paint the town.’

Smith is currently in the middle of the European leg of his world tour.

He took to Instagram last night (11 May) to express his gratitude to his fans in Milan, who came to the show with rainbow flags and memorabilia.

Sam Smith: ‘I’m so proud to be gay’

He wrote in a caption: ‘Milan. I am in a huge love bubble right now. I have never experienced anything like that in my life.

‘Tonight, the entire arena had arranged to hold up there (sic) phones during HIM and each section of the crowd had a different colour and created the LGBTQ FLAG!!

‘I also never seen so many flags at any of my shows. The LOVE in that room tonight was powerful and hit me in my core.

‘I’m so proud to be gay and I’m so honoured to have you all as my fans.’

He added: ‘Love is love.’

Sam Smith previously said he’s always been fluid with his gender expression.

He said at the end of last year: ‘I don’t know what the title would be but I feel just as much woman as I am man.’

He then revealed: ‘People don’t know this, but when I was 17, I remember becoming obsessed with Boy George and Marilyn. There was one moment in my life when I didn’t own a piece of male clothing, really.

‘I would wear full make up every day at school – eyelashes, leggings, with Dr Martens and huge fur coats, for two and a half years,’ he revealed.

As a result, the internationally renowned singer said it sometimes didn’t go down well in his home town of Cambridgeshire.

‘I got teased a lot for it,’ he said. ‘But there were also people respecting me for walking around like that in school,’ he revealed.
