Andy Cohen has denied longstanding rumors he is dating John Mayer.
The Watch What Happens Live star is known for his close friendship with the Still Feel Like Your Man singer.
Whispers were reignited when Mayer emotionally serenaded Andy while celebrating his friend’s 50th birthday on Sunday’s episode of his chat show on Bravo.
Speaking to CNN, Andy said: ‘Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time.
‘I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption.’
Elsewhere in the interview, Andy admits that John was one of the five last people he’s made a call to.
‘FaceTime last night with John Mayer at two in the morning!’ he said.
‘I’m looking for someone strong, independent, smart’
Openly gay Andy, who is single, was then asked what he was looking for in a partner.
‘Someone who is like John Mayer…’ he answered. ‘Just kidding. What am I looking for? I’m looking for someone strong, independent, smart, who has their own thing going on.’
Back in March, Andy confirmed he had split from boyfriend Clifton Dassuncao saying: ‘Yes, I am single again.’
