Tom Daley proudly wore a rainbow pin when accepting a medal at the World Diving Series.

The FINA Diving World Series finished yesterday at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan, Russia.

Daley was taking part in the Mixed 3m Synchronized dive with swimming partner Grace Reid.

They took home the silver.

When the pair went up to the podium to accept their medals, Daley proudly wore a rainbow badge.

He posted a picture of himself with the badge and medal to his Instagram.

He pointed out the badge in the picture, adding ‘Representing on the Podium.’

Russia still has very strict antigay laws.

So fans are praising the diver for taking the stand.

Daley has previously called out countries who still criminalize homosexuality.

Last month he took part in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

When he took to Twitter to celebrate a gold, he added: ’37 of the competing nations criminalise being LGBT+. I feel so lucky to be able to be openly who I am without worry.’

Daley continued: ‘I hope one day every athlete from every nation in the commonwealth will be free to compete openly as who they are too!’
