Trump kisses lesbian police officer who helped stop congressional baseball practice mass shooting

Crystal Griner, the lesbian Capitol Police officer who helped stop June’s mass shooting at a congressional baseball practice, was awarded a Medal of Valor by President Trump.

The Medal of Valor, the highest honor that public safety officers can get, was given to Griner and four other officers on Thursday 27 July.

However, many are talking about Trump kissing Griner on the cheek after awarding her the medal, which is seemingly inappropriate.

Others found it ironic that Griner, who is openly gay, was given this award on the same week that the Trump administration has started to roll back civil rights protections based on sexual orientation.
