Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet in Call Me by Your Name

After earning rave reviews at Sundance earlier this year, audiences have their first look at the upcoming film Call Me by Your Name. In it, a sun-kissed Armie Hammer and precocious Timothée Chalamet develop a passionate relationship. Watch the trailer below.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by André Aciman. It tells the story of 17-year-old Elio (Chalamet) living with his parents in Italy during the 1980s. When Oliver (Hammer), a 24-year-old academic comes to live with this, a striking and electric relationship evolves.

Luca Guadagnino directs based on a script by Guadagnino, James Ivory, and Walter Fasano.

Call Me by Your Name currently boasts 100 percent on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. Justin Change of the LA Times calls it ‘a powerfully erotic and affecting love story,’ while Brian Tallerico of RogertEbert.com writes the movie is ‘unforgettable on every level, the kind of film that has the power to move and inspire.’

LGBTI representation in Hollywood is dismally low. A new report revealed only 1.1 percent of characters were LGB in movies last year and none were trans.

This movie is one of the more high-profile LGBTI movies coming out of Hollywood and we can’t wait to see it.
